Celebrate – Eat – Drink – Live
After a week off from dishing up a special for the weekend, we’re coming back like a stampeding bison. Does “Great Odin’s Raven” ring a bell? Just what is the brew crew up to? Coming up right after I finish my goblet of “Nelson,” all the stuff you want to know and more.
We have a dinner special starting at 5 PM this Friday. We’re going to smoke some Buffalo Ribeye Roasts and slice it to serve with a Pilaf of Rice, Orzo and Lentils Medley along with Garlic and Olive Oil Roasted Cauliflower. This fabulous dish will be $13.95 and we’ll have a beer and wine special too. Our last Buffalo special was a rousing success.
Our beer special will be “Cask Duet.” We’ll tap the cask at 5 PM Friday, too, and will have it on until it runs out.
And not because it has a funny name and hilarious label, we’re offering “Plungerhead Zinfandel” for $7 a glass and $24 a bottle for as long as the Buffalo lasts. This is a robust red from Lodi and is a 2008 vintage.
We came up with a new beer. It’s an Imperial Stout and we’re calling it “Odin’s Raven.” As many of you older locals remember the famous anchorman Ron Burgundy doing the news and his favorite expletive “Great Odin’s Raven.” We want to pay tribute to a funny, funny man. Thanks Ron. We’re releasing, for growler fills only, this 10% elixir this Saturday, December 18th as soon as the brewery opens. You’ll also be able to order pints, or smaller, of “Odin’s Raven” at the pub starting Saturday.
A couple weeks back, we made an announcement on our blog and website about a limited release of several cases of some vintage beers. If you read the blog, you knew about the deal, if not, you missed out. Read the blog/newsletter for more info on a weekly basis.
We just received a new shipment of men’s t-shirts in many new colors. What a great idea for Christmas presents…
We made a double batch of “Token,” our award winning Imperial Porter. Half of it will be ready at the end of December and half will be going into Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels until it reaches the right amount of yummy goodness. Look for cask versions of Token” with Chai tea, with Vanilla and Bourbon-soaked oak chips, and with Toasted Coconut and Rum-soaked oak chips.
We still have a little “Ichabod 2009” on tap at the pub, it will be gone soon. A tiny amount of “Sippin’ On The Dock of the Bay” is still barely hanging in but is still amazingly good for an aged IPA. We also have, Pure Hoppiness, Duet, Nelson, Ugly, Irish Red, Alpine Ale, Willy, Mandarin Nectar, Great 2009, Bad Boy, O’Brien’s IPA and Willy Vanilly at the pub right now. Come drink a beer and watch the Chargers sink or swim tonight against the 9er’s.
Happy Holidays from Alpine Beer Company!
